OVERVIEW
Maximum Tolerance is a short film that questions our society’s behaviour towards social issues and differences. The film features digitally-manipulated street signs around Toronto to raise issues surrounding people’s treatment of others while promoting social equality and tolerance.
ARTIST STATEMENT
What if street signs could show and send us a different message? What if they could contribute to making the place we live in a better one? Maximum Tolerance raises those questions by digitally converting street signs into PSA messages that question viewers to change their attitude toward social issues. At the end of the piece, the viewer is asked to leave the role of the passive viewer aside, take part in this wave of change and act to convert those messages into actual change.
